"Thanks to my late uncle Bill, a veterinarian who unfailingly gifted subscriptions to National Geographic in my elementary school days, I learned about the work of I.M. Pei. While trudging home from school in dreary Nowheresville I would imagine its tedium-flecked streets bedecked in Pei's futuristic slabs and shrouds. When the visionary designer died last year, I took note. My composition "Ieoh Ming Pei" leads off the new "Schwarz und Weiß" compilation of artists associated with the long-running Hannover collective space Silke Arp Bricht, aka the Oberdeck. At last, some decent dancing about architecture!"
